Law Firm Seeking Experienced Litigation Paralegal for Personal Injury Cases in Southfield, Michigan

We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team and support our attorneys in all aspects of personal injury trials.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and complaints
- E-file court documents in state and federal courts
- Communicate with clients, court, counsel, and other parties involved in the case
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations
- Prepare discovery documents and responses
- Coordinate and summarize depositions
- Draft and serve summons
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court
- Perform administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, and manage logistics
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Assist attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from various sources
- Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Prepare witnesses for trial
- Assist with case settlements
- Other tasks as requested by the attorney

Qualifications:

- Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
- 2+ years of litigation experience (preferred)
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
- Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas (preferred)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, and practices
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing skills of at least 35 words per minute
