This position offers the opportunity to work in a variety of office locations and be supervised by an IP partner while providing high quality legal services to clients. Responsibilities: - Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO - Conduct prior art searches and analysis - Perform patentability analysis and IP due diligence - Engage in practice development activities to build and maintain client relationships - Assist in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projects - Apply advanced concepts in any life sciences field, with particular emphasis on molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry - Study and analyze scientific or technical documents for patentability, novelty, and inventiveness - Convert provisional applications and foreign filed applications into US applications, and vice versa Requirements: - Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a biological field with excellent academic credentials - At least 1 year of experience as a practicing patent agent or 2 years of professional experience in life sciences - Registered to practice before the USPTO - Strong writing and research abilities, as well as proficiency in written and verbal communication and organizational skills Compensation: - Salary range of $113,580 - $181, for positions in San Francisco, CA - Base salary will be determined during the interview process based on experience, expertise, and market factors - Total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits such as 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and more - Additional benefits include paid holidays, personal days, vacation time, sick leave, bereavement leave, parental leave, and pregnancy disability leave Equal Employment Opportunity: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity.
