The law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant (PA) to join their expanding Office Administration Department. The position will primarily support the California and West coast offices, with the ability to work remotely from a state within the Pacific or Mountain time zone. The Floating PA will provide temporary support to attorneys and paralegals, and may also assist with new office openings and firm-wide projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a litigation practice assistant or legal secretary, with knowledge of federal and local rules and California processes and filings. Strong computer skills and excellent communication and organizational abilities are also required. The expected salary range for this position is between $48,000 and $100,000, depending on experience and location. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys and paralegals in multiple offices
• Communicate with Office Administrators and PAs to ensure smooth transitions during assignments
• Proactively seek opportunities to assist offices in need of support
• Train new and incoming staff on firm systems, procedures, and resources
• Assist with conflict checks, matter opening process, and new matter documents
• Communicate with incoming attorneys, CIRS and IT Departments, and outside parties regarding file transfers and other practice-related information
• Create and organize client files
• Assist with administrative tasks during new office openings
• Participate in firm-wide projects and initiatives

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a litigation practice assistant or legal secretary
• In-depth knowledge of federal and local rules
• Experience with California processes and filings
• Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute
• Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office, document management, e-filing, and database software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior organizational skills, including filing, calendaring, and proofreading

Salary Information:

• Colorado: $48,000 - $87,000
• New York City: $72,900 - $95,100
• California: $50,700 - $100,000
• Washington: $49,000 - $87,000
