Dannis Woliver Kelley, a mid-sized women-owned education law firm with a statewide practice, is seeking a litigation paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with multiple attorneys to prepare motions, pleadings, and other legal documents, as well as conduct legal research and fact gathering. If you have prior experience as a litigation paralegal, strong knowledge of litigation procedures, and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple deadlines, we encourage you to apply.

As a litigation paralegal at our firm, you will have the opportunity to work in one of our various offices located throughout California, including San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, and Fresno. We offer a competitive hourly rate, with the final rate depending on factors such as experience, education, and industry knowledge. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery-related materials
- Manage and retrieve information from administrative and trial courts
- Conduct cite checking and review motions and pleadings for accuracy
- Organize and manage large volumes of documents, both physical and electronic
- Utilize software systems for document tracking and review
- Conduct legal research and fact gathering using resources such as Westlaw
- Prepare easy-to-understand documents and presentations
- Process court and administrative filings
- Stay current with court dockets and calendared litigation, as well as other administrative agency hearing dates
- Provide recommendations to attorneys and staff on complex procedural issues

Qualifications:

- Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized with strong knowledge of litigation procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines with excellent follow through
- Prior experience maintaining a high-quality work product within required time constraints
- Accuracy, speed, and professionalism are a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong understanding of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with document management systems
- Experience using eDiscovery software for document review and production
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Minimum of three years prior experience as a litigation paralegal
- Experience in education law setting strongly preferred
- Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work overtime, as needed
