Position: Paralegal - Wills, Trusts and Estates
Location: Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester or Syracuse, NY (Hybrid remote opportunity)

Job Summary:

Join the Harris Beach team as a Paralegal in the Wills, Trusts and Estates department. This position offers a hybrid remote opportunity and requires a minimum of 1400 billable hours annually. The firm values inclusion and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. Competitive salaries based on relevant experience and geographic location.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist multiple attorneys with estate administration matters for taxable and non-taxable estates.
- Interact with clients in person, on the phone, via email, and video conferencing.
- Draft, edit, and review probate and administration related documents.
- Assemble and organize financial records for estate tax returns and audits.
- Prepare fiduciary income tax returns and settlement papers for both informal and formal settlement of estates and trusts.
- Complete a minimum of 1400 billable hours annually.
- Work with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm.
- Comfortable working a hybrid schedule (1 day remote).

Requirements:

- 3+ years of estate administration experience.
- Experience preparing estate and trust accountings.
- High level of initiative and ability to follow through on numerous ongoing projects in a busy environment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Strong proofreading and analytical skills to ensure top quality of legal documents.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to efficiently use technology resources.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with clients.
- Belief in the firm’s core values: integrity, support, ingenuity, teamwork, and inclusion.

Salary information (based on relevant experience and geographic location):

- Albany: - ( hours per week)
- Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester, and Syracuse: - ( hours per week)
