Litigation Paralegal: Exciting Opportunity at Top Law Firm in New York H1: MoFo Seeking Experienced Litigation Paralegal in New York H2: Join Our Premier Litigation Group at MoFo Morrison Foerster LLP (MoFo), a prestigious Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide, is looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our Litigation Group in our New York office. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the legal field to work with a highly respected team and further their career in the legal industry. Responsibilities of the Paralegal: - Utilize a broad set of knowledge and skills to effectively manage complex cases. - Demonstrate insight into legal procedures, project management, cost efficiencies, and collaborative skills. - Identify, promote, and apply technologies to maximize efficiency in carrying out assignments. - Develop relationships, internally and externally, to gather data and information and create networks of relevant resources and services. - Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize assignments appropriately. - Determine and implement effective organizational and procedural methods. - Review and analyze documents and data, perform procedural and factual research. - Provide insightful analysis, recommendations, and solutions to further case objectives. - Create and maintain files, documents, and data. - Prepare and edit a range of written materials, including correspondence, memoranda, drafts of legal documents, and factual analyses. - Oversee and provide guidance to other paralegals and temporary staff, as needed. - Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations. - Prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis. - Prepare and submit timecards on a weekly basis. Litigation Responsibilities: - Assist in all phases of a matter from case inception through trial or resolution. - Assist with document collections, reviews, and productions. - Coordinate management of case documents. - Consult with firm’s eDiscovery Resource Management team. - Assist with the preparation of court filings. - Conduct depositions. - Conduct factual or legal research. - Examine public records. - Monitor legislative and administrative proceedings. - Locate witnesses. - Trace documents and other physical evidence. - Assist with trial preparation and logistics. The Ideal Candidate will have: - A Bachelor’s degree (preferred). - Five to Seven years of relevant experience in the practice area or comparable work experience (preferred). - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. - Strong sense of accountability and taking ownership over projects and responsibilities. - Ability to follow complex instructions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. - Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects and work effectively under pressure. - Excellent research, analysis, and communication skills. - Strong writing and communication skills. - Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. - Flexibility to work overtime as needed. - Flexibility to travel, if required.
