Morrison Foerster LLP (MoFo), a prestigious Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide, is looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our Litigation Group in our New York office. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the legal field to work with a highly respected team and further their career in the legal industry.

Responsibilities of the Paralegal:

- Utilize a broad set of knowledge and skills to effectively manage complex cases.
- Demonstrate insight into legal procedures, project management, cost efficiencies, and collaborative skills.
- Identify, promote, and apply technologies to maximize efficiency in carrying out assignments.
- Develop relationships, internally and externally, to gather data and information and create networks of relevant resources and services.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize assignments appropriately.
- Determine and implement effective organizational and procedural methods.
- Review and analyze documents and data, perform procedural and factual research.
- Provide insightful analysis, recommendations, and solutions to further case objectives.
- Create and maintain files, documents, and data.
- Prepare and edit a range of written materials, including correspondence, memoranda, drafts of legal documents, and factual analyses.
- Oversee and provide guidance to other paralegals and temporary staff, as needed.
- Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations.
- Prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis.
- Prepare and submit timecards on a weekly basis.

Litigation Responsibilities:

- Assist in all phases of a matter from case inception through trial or resolution.
- Assist with document collections, reviews, and productions.
- Coordinate management of case documents.
- Consult with firm’s eDiscovery Resource Management team.
- Assist with the preparation of court filings.
- Conduct depositions.
- Conduct factual or legal research.
- Examine public records.
- Monitor legislative and administrative proceedings.
- Locate witnesses.
- Trace documents and other physical evidence.
- Assist with trial preparation and logistics.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

- A Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Five to Seven years of relevant experience in the practice area or comparable work experience (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of accountability and taking ownership over projects and responsibilities.
- Ability to follow complex instructions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent research, analysis, and communication skills.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Flexibility to travel, if required.

Salary Information:

Salary ranges may vary based on factors such as local market data and ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may include additional compensation such as a discretionary bonus, overtime, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO.
