Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal I to join our team at a leading law firm, BAL. This role will be based in Houston and Austin, Texas, and offers an opportunity to make a positive impact in people's lives through elite immigration work. As an Immigration Paralegal I, you will be responsible for coordinating with Attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Take lead in email/phone client communications, under the direction of a Senior Paralegal/Attorney
- Provide guidance to assignees regarding proprietary systems and case processing
- Input client services rendered and send to accounting for processing
- Manage status of all filed applications and petitions and finalize documents after attorney review
- Utilize document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework
- Share process flow with assignees and identify problematic cases, discussing strategies and solutions with Attorney
- Conduct research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, etc.
- Initiate contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information
- Prepare internal caseload reports for management

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree; 1-year law-related experience under a licensed attorney; or PL certificate from ABA approved program
- At least 1+ year(s) . corporate immigration experience
- Comfortable and able to thrive in an extremely high-volume environment
- Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors and correct work and the work of others
- Superior client service skills
- Ability to prioritize cases, caseload, and other assigned tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn and navigate proprietary software

Working Conditions:

- Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
- Able to perform general office administrative activities such as copying, filing, and using the telephone
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Regular and on-time attendance
- Must be able to prioritize, schedule, and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules
- A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required
- Hours may exceed 40 hours per week
- Occasional travel within the region and to other locations as required
