Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a highly skilled and intellectually curious Litigation Associate to join its San Francisco office. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes, cross-border litigation matters. The ideal candidate will break the traditional mold of lawyering, utilizing deep legal knowledge and innovative techniques to resolve complex issues for clients.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Manage high-stakes litigation matters with a cross-border element

  • Collaborate with a global team of lawyers on criminal defense, regulatory enforcement, civil litigation, and more

  • Develop creative and unconventional legal strategies to solve client problems

  • Draft and edit complex legal documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings

  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring a clear understanding of legal strategies and progress

  • Contribute to the firm’s business development by building client relationships

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest legal trends and technologies to continuously innovate legal solutions

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • Graduated law school between 2019-2021

  • Admission to the California Bar or ability to relocate to California and take the California Bar

  • Prior experience in litigation, intellectual property, white-collar crime, or insolvency preferred

  • Strong background in legal writing, drafting, and editing

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and intellectual rigor

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple high-priority cases

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar (or ability to relocate and take the Bar)

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing, drafting, and editing skills

  • Advanced legal research capabilities

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well with global, cross-border teams

  • Client-focused with a high level of professionalism and integrity
