Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) Project Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The LAV Project Attorney will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide holistic legal assessment and options for victim/survivors regarding the impact of the law and their experiences.
- Offer direct representation to sexual violence victim/survivors in both criminal and civil cases within Ramsey County.
- Prepare litigation materials.
- Conduct legal research.
- Collaborate with advocates from **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and SOS.
- Supervise interns and volunteers as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the root causes and dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.
- Experience organizing, working with, or advocating on behalf of underrepresented individuals, including those in rural communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in program or project development and implementation.
- Self-starter with effective time-management skills.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Willingness to learn new skills and tackle new tasks.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of other language(s) and women’s rights issues is a plus.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $70,000-$78,000 per year, dependent on experience (DOE).
