Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal, policy, and factual research for current and potential cases and non-litigation advocacy projects
• Draft legal documents and briefs
• Interview potential clients and class members
• Investigate facts of specific cases
• Receive mentorship and feedback from supervising attorneys

Requirements:

• Current 3L law student starting as an associate at a Chicago law firm participating in the PILI program
• Located in Illinois and able to work in Chicago office during fellowship
• Self-motivated with ability to manage tasks in fast-paced environment
• Receptive to feedback and eager to learn and improve
• Strong foundation in legal research and analysis
• Excellent legal writing skills
• Collaborative and respectful team player
• Committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
• Empathetic and able to connect with clients and community members
• Passion for civil rights, civil liberties, and social justice

Salary Information:

• $6,000 for 10-week fellowship (full-time)
