Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Washington, . is expanding its intellectual property litigation team and is seeking a motivated associate with 1 to 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in patent litigation, supported by a technical background in engineering or computer science. This position offers hands-on litigation exposure within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment focused on high-stakes patent disputes.

Duties:

  • Handle various stages of IP litigation, including pre-suit investigations, discovery, and trial preparation

  • Conduct technical analysis related to patent validity, infringement, and claim construction

  • Draft legal pleadings, memoranda, motions, and briefs

  • Assist with depositions, witness preparation, and hearings

  • Engage in complex legal research and develop litigation strategies

  • Collaborate closely with expert witnesses, technical consultants, and litigation teams

  • Support client interactions and contribute to litigation strategy discussions

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in patent or intellectual property litigation

  • Demonstrated experience working on patent disputes involving complex technologies

  • Strong writing and analytical skills suitable for high-level litigation work

  • Admission to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office (preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
