New York Construction Partner Attorney
Job Responsibilities
The New York Construction Partner Attorney will be responsible for defending construction accident cases alleging violations of New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241. The attorney will work within the Labor Law Practice, providing clients with extensive experience and resources accumulated over several decades of legal practice in construction matters. The client base is diverse and includes owners and developers of residential and commercial buildings, sports complexes, municipalities, contractors, construction managers, insurers, and brokers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings.
- Drafting and arguing motions.
- Taking and defending depositions.
- Advising clients on effective techniques for defending catastrophic injury claims arising from serious construction accidents.
The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and possess strong writing and analytical skills. The role requires a self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team.
Education and Experience Information
Candidates must be admitted to the New York Bar. The role requires at least eight plus (8+) years of experience in defending construction accident cases related to New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241. The ideal candidate should have a strong legal background in the New York Labor Law arena, with the ability to provide strategic legal advice to clients.
Salary Information
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD $180, to USD $220, per year. In addition to the base salary, the law firm offers a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401k plan with employer contribution, and a bonus for those who meet their minimum hourly requirement.
