Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Baltimore, MD, seeks a driven and experienced litigation associate to join its dynamic legal team. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level attorney with demonstrated success in high-stakes litigation involving pharmaceutical or medical device matters, particularly with experience in Daubert and Rule 702 motion practice. The position offers the chance to work on nationally prominent issues within a supportive and collaborative hybrid work environment.

Duties:

  • Draft and argue discovery motions, pretrial briefs, and dispositive motions, including under Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence

  • Participate in depositions, expert coordination, and complex fact development

  • Strategize case direction in close coordination with partners and clients

  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys on research and drafting tasks

  • Collaborate with scientific and industry experts in preparing a litigation strategy

  • Maintain consistent and professional client communications

  • Review, edit, and refine expert reports and technical litigation documents

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, ideally from a top-tier law firm or national litigation practice

  • Substantial background in product liability, with preference for pharmaceutical or medical device defense work

  • Demonstrated ability to write and argue complex legal motions independently

  • Familiarity with federal court procedures and expert witness practice

  • Admitted to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction; Maryland licensure preferred

  • Candidates admitted in New York are also encouraged to apply

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution

  • Strong academic performance and law school credentials preferred

Certifications:

  • Active and good-standing member of a state bar

  • Eligibility for admission in Maryland or willingness to waive in, if not currently licensed

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and persuasive writing ability

  • Acute attention to procedural and substantive detail

  • Strong project coordination and time management

  • Ability to thrive in both collaborative and independent work environments
