Current Employee

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
There are no face time requirements so you can work with flexibility. Since the work is interesting and challenging you need to work hard with senior attorneys and must show your caliber.

What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Partnership truly cares about transparency. The people here are awesome and work is interesting, challenging, and substantive. You might get some headline-grabbing cases. The people are generally friendly and reasonable.

What did you not like about this institution?
Some managers were incredibly rude and expected one to work off the clock without extra pay. The hours can be very long and expectations can be sky-high.

Avoid this firm whether you are a client or a prospective employee on May 19, 2024 - Former Employee Mr. in San Francisco City,

Full time 2017 Former Employee

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Retire and turn the firm over to the next generation do they can change the toxic environment to be forward-looking and open minded. Don’t run the firm like you want to shut the firm down and turn off the lights on your way out.

What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
God office space and choice of offices since entire practice groups have departed given the low quality of management

What did you not like about this institution?
Terrible on so many fronts. The firm management is backward-looking and stuck in the past. They are still tightly bound to and wed to the billable hour. The perspective on firm growth is on what makes them money nos so they can keep getting expensive cars, rather than looking to the future with respect to billing and compensation structure and areas of las in response rhe new economy. The firm is also stuck in the past on their model of an attorney: someone who is white and male. Female partners are scant. There are zero attorneys of color. Zilch. I thought this was a diverse society? It is, but likely is not outside the walls of the management’s country clubs. Entire practice groups have been eliminated or left. The management lies and is sneaky, petty, and myopic. The infrastructure is akin to what is added as pork to a Government contract with an overstaffed IT, secretaries, accounting, word processing department, “support services”....and on and on. The client ends up paying for this fluff.

People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Anyone on the management committee or anyone who had been there for more than 15 years and named partners

How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Coffee is decent, good offices, website is decent, good place to hang out if you are old and white
