I would like to see management and the firm as a whole be more open in terms of what kind of job's they take on. This way we would have more work available year long and the work would be more diverse and thus more interesting.

I really liked the front desk staff to attorney relationship that was in place at this firm. Everyone seemed to be on an even playing field and got along well with each other.

There can be a lack of work at times which can be down putting. I also found some of the work to be quite tedious and downright boring at times.

If you are looking for a firm that has a quick turnaround rate and does not beat around the bush, apply for Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP. They are very professional and easy to deal with!

A law office that is very polite, professional, and quick to get in touch with you. This firm was very quick to get in touch with me and offered me a position right away. I did not have to negotiate or haggle my way into my position as well. If they are interested in you they will process your application and hire you right away. They do not beat around the bush!

It can be difficult moving up the ranks as some times the work can be slow. They are working on this though as I have mentioned this to them multiple times.

Diversity Write a review

We have long understood that our future as a top law firm depends on developing world-class attorneys with a wide range of perspectives. We therefore regard it as imperative that we maintain an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can flourish, both as lawyers and as individuals.

Accordingly, we cast the widest possible net to attract such people, and we make a serious investment in their long-term development. We do this proactively, operating the entire firm in an inclusive manner that represents the full range of human differences.

At Kramer Levin, no career will be limited in any way by race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, nationality, age, disability, or marital and parental status.

To assure this, our attorneys receive mandatory diversity training every year. We are a signatory to the New York City Bar's "Statement of Diversity Principles," which expresses our commitment to facilitating diversity in the hiring, retention and promotion of attorneys. And we support a number of legal organizations aimed at increasing diversity, including AALDEF, AABANY, Asian American Law Fund, KALAGNY, LeGal, Lambda Legal and the New York City Bar.

Our diversity program has been recognized by many of the organizations that monitor such efforts, including Multicultural Law Magazine, Vault, The Empire State Pride Agenda, and Corporate Equality Index.

The Diversity Committee

At the heart of our program is the Diversity Committee, a proactive body charged with promoting diversity within the firm, within the legal profession in general, and in society at large. The Committee-made up of partners, associates, and senior administrative staff-has a mandate to encourage free and open dialogue on diversity issues, and to oversee the recruitment, assimilation, and ongoing development of law students and laterals from minority backgrounds.

Summer associate program

Everything about the Kramer Levin Summer Associate Program is meticulously designed to give you a strong start to a successful career. From the day you set foot in our New York office, you will be treated as a practicing attorney-doing real work, learning vital skills, working side-by-side with some of the finest attorneys in the world. By the time you head back to school, you will understand what it is like to be a lawyer.

Learn by Doing

The summer program will give you insight into our firm's distinct character in a way that no formal interview could. Every summer associate is given intensive, hands-on work, participating in active matters-going to court, writing memoranda, sitting in on client meetings, and generally doing what a first year associate does.

Not Just Work

When you ask around about Kramer Levin, you will certainly hear about smart lawyers and high-profile matters. But you will also hear about our culture-friendly, unpretentious, encouraging of any outside interests you care to pursue.

Balancing your profession with the rest of your life is a priority within that culture, and we make this clear from the beginning. In addition to all the activities and diversions New York City is justly famous for-and that we encourage you to take advantage of-we provide a full schedule of social events throughout the summer.

In 2014, our summer associates attended the following:

Mid-Summer Reception at the Bryant Park Grill

Wine tasting

Private suite at a Yankees game

Iron Chef-style Cooking Competition

Diversity Committee lunch

Women's Initiatives lunch

Trivia Night Tournament

Bowling tournament

Photographic scavenger hunt

Citymeals on Wheels Volunteer Day

Informal and impromptu social get-togethers
