What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
If you want to make partner, you should consider looking elsewhere. This firm may not be the ideal fit for you if you want to be a partner in five years or less.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
There is plenty of work to go around at this firm so you won't be left wondering whether you have a job. You will enjoy the decent benefits packages as well. This firm does not pay minimum wage to associates.
What did you not like about this institution?
It's possible that the workplace culture at this firm is not ideal. Several associates have left before making partner, which is curious. The firm may require too much time and work before allowing additional partners into the fold.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Treat all the lower level employees as well as you treat the partners and high level attorneys. Be fairer and distribute the wealth and work more equitably.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
The people are great at this firm. The compensation for your work is very high and they have a very good benefits package for employees.
What did you not like about this institution?
The work-life balance changes the higher you get in the firm and not for the better I'm afraid. You really have to put in long hours to move to the upper levels here. Pay is poor at lower levels.

Summer Associate Program
The summer associate experience differs slightly from office to office, it's designed to simulate the experience of a new lawyer beginning his or her career with Andrews Kurth.
We provide opportunities for law students to explore our firm and the reality of a law practice. The program also allows us to meet and work with prospective candidates. In the process, we introduce some summer amusements for everyone to enjoy.
Summer associates may divide their experience between two practice areas selected according to the associates' interests and our hiring needs.
Designated partner and associate sponsors are responsible for assigning and evaluating the associate's work projects. Additionally, each associate has the opportunity to work with other lawyers in his or her practice area. Summer associates are involved in client meetings, negotiations, drafting sessions, depositions, trials and closings.
