Job Title: Trust Administration Advisor
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer and provide fiduciary advice and oversight for various Wealth trust accounts, including personal trusts, special needs trusts, investment management, custodial, and guardianship accounts.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts with varying complexity and asset size.
- Understand and interpret financial and estate planning strategies, as well as legal and fiduciary documents, to deliver fiduciary advice directly to clients or client teams.
- Collaborate with client teams to identify and onboard new fiduciary business.
- Meet or exceed client service standards by working with Client Advisors, Investment Portfolio Managers, Wealth Strategists, and external advisors to address clients' tax, financial, estate planning, and banking objectives.
- Ensure the efficient and effective completion of trust administrative duties, including reviewing and interpreting governing documents, managing cash, troubleshooting, and maintaining records in the iWork document imaging system and Advisor Desktop systems.
- Coordinate annual Reg-9 administrative reviews and manage tax matters for assigned accounts, including 1099s, 1041s, and other relevant documents.
- Escalate matters to internal parties such as Risk Oversight, Legal, and Compliance when necessary.
- Complete projects as determined by the line of business.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and the terms of underlying documents, including Reg 9, Discretionary Distribution policies, and Sarbanes Oxley/Anti-money Laundering.
Education and Experience Information:
- Required: 10+ years of experience as a relationship manager in Fiduciary Services, Private Wealth, or Institutional Investment Management, with 5+ years in Trust Administration.
- Strong understanding of estate planning, fiduciary, and tax laws.
- Analytical skills for issue identification and resolution.
- Proficient in interpreting legal documents.
- Knowledgeable of banking and trust systems.
- Intermediate or advanced skills in standard Microsoft Office products and database applications.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex information to clients and internal partners.
- Ability to mentor and informally coach Trust Advisors and other team members; serves as a brand ambassador in client and partner engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, Fiduciary Administration, or related field.
- Advanced degree or certification (., JD, MBA, CFP, CPA, or CTFA) is desirable.
- Experience with Trust Financial Software.
