**Job Title:**

Tax Manager, Sustainability Credits

**Job Responsibilities:**

As a Tax Manager within the Sustainability: Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice at Company, the role involves advising clients on sustainability and social Federal Credits and Incentives (C&I) programs. The manager will manage and facilitate the analysis and documentation of opportunities related to sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Specific responsibilities include:

- Managing and facilitating Federal C&I engagements related to sustainability and ESG, including programs under the Internal Revenue Code such as:
- IRC section 45Q Carbon Capture Tax Credit
- IRC section 48 Investment Tax Credit
- IRC section 45 Production Tax Credit
- IRC section 30C Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit
- IRC section 1400Z Qualified Opportunity Zones
- IRC section 45D New Markets Tax Credit
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Maintaining and developing strong internal and client relationships.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and a quality-first mentality in evaluating eligibility for various fact patterns.
- Developing processes with colleagues in other technical specialties and materials to perform benefit calculations.
- Collaborating with member firms, including Advisory and Consulting, to execute work streams like valuation studies, tax equity modeling, and life cycle assessment studies.
- Identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to leadership, as well as implementing process improvement strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, which may include presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and working with the team to present potential opportunities to assist clients.
- Developing and mentoring team members.
- Providing support with various internal initiatives and special tax-related projects.

**Education and Experience Information:**

**Required:**

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2–3 days per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, business administration, economics, engineering, environmental studies, geology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field (exception applies for master’s degree with 2+ years of experience).
- One of the following active accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, one of the other designations listed below based on role and business approval:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Professional Engineer
- GRI Certification
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and proactively develop internal and external working relationships.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

**Preferred:**

- Advanced degree such as MST, LLM, or JD, or related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Experience with tax technical research (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA, etc.).
- Experience with Federal or State and Local C&I.
- Experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences.
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA or law firm experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

**Salary Information:**

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $98,350 to $223,990.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
