Job Title: Environmental Associate

Job Responsibilities:
The Environmental Associate will be responsible for addressing a wide array of environmental legal issues across various jurisdictions, specifically in Texas (Austin, Dallas, or Houston) and Washington, DC. The duties include:

- Conducting environmental due diligence and evaluating risk mitigation measures in corporate and real estate transactions.
- Handling compliance issues related to key environmental regulations such as RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA, TSCA, FIFRA, and relevant state laws.
- Managing environmental enforcement matters and addressing climate disclosure and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues.
- Engaging in litigation concerning agency challenges under the Administrative Procedure Act and core environmental statutes, particularly focusing on CWA, NEPA, ESA, CERCLA, and analogous state statutes.
- Advising energy industry companies, including those in the oil and gas, renewable, and transitional sectors, with a preference for candidates with experience related to the OCSLA and oil and gas activities on public lands and in offshore waters.
- Collaborating with a dynamic team on diverse matters, requiring excellent research and writing skills.

Education and Experience Information:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:

- Admission to the Texas or . Bar or eligibility to waive into the same.
- 2-4 years of experience in environmental law.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a variety of matters as part of a dynamic team.
- Preference for candidates with private practice or in-house experience advising energy industry companies.

Salary Information:
The pay range for this position in Washington, DC, and Dallas, TX, is $235,000 – $310,000 per year. The actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
