The role involves assisting clients in achieving their income tax, estate tax, philanthropic, and financial planning objectives. Private Wealth Management (PWM)

PWM teams work closely with clients to provide customized strategies utilizing the company's vast investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities, and global reach. Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) offer an unmatched investment platform, encompassing the full range of products and services of the company and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, the close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of the company and beyond.
Company Family Office (GSFO)
The company Family Office (GSFO) collaborates with Private Wealth Advisors to build strong client relationships and deliver a complete suite of wealth planning and family office services.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert, assisting high-net-worth clients with income, trust, estate, and tax planning.
- Advise individuals and families on wealth transmission aspects, including tax-efficient estate planning structures, sophisticated lifetime gifting strategies, closely held business transfers, charitable giving, and trust administration and restructuring.
- Counsel clients on asset protection techniques and implementation.
- Interface with trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors and professional bodies regarding private clients' wealth planning.
- Develop philanthropic goals and implement related structures (., donor-advised funds, private foundations).
- Formalize financial goals and devise action plans to achieve them.
- Present internal educational seminars to Private Wealth Management teams.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA and/or JD highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in structuring multi-generational wealth and estate planning strategies for clients.
- Technical expertise in US tax legislation and investment portfolio tax implications, estate planning entities, philanthropic entities, and other business activities, including the impact of the Alternative Minimum Tax.
- Strong income tax planning expertise.
- Preferable experience with state and local tax matters for southern state jurisdictions.
- Experience with both private company owners and executives of public companies is a plus.
- Strong background advising on asset protection technique implementation.
- Experience interfacing with trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors and professional bodies regarding private client wealth planning.
- Deep interest in financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Resourceful, self-starter, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive experience presenting to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to build consensus and facilitate decision-making among families.
- Experience in structuring and managing family office entities is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure.
- A minimum of ten years of experience as an accountant, attorney, or wealth professional.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & Series 63 exams (must be obtained within the first three months of employment).
- Experience working with clients in structuring multi-generational wealth and estate planning strategies.
- Willingness and desire to travel as necessary, given the regional coverage of the role.
