The **Members Only** is seeking an Associate Counsel for Procurement & Grants to join their team in Nashville, TN. This position will provide legal advice and assistance to department personnel regarding contracts, grants, and procurement matters. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a juris doctor degree, as well as a current license to practice law in Tennessee. They should also have at least four years of experience in the full-time practice of law, preferably with experience in advising on procurement, contracts, and/or grants matters in the government or public sector. The monthly salary for this position ranges from $8,534 to $13,618.

Key responsibilities for this role include drafting and negotiating contracts, reviewing and approving contracts and related documents, and providing legal advice and assistance to department personnel on questions of law and policy. The associate counsel will also assist in training agency-wide on contracts and grants, and will work closely with the TDOC Commissioner and other executive leadership on agency contracts and procurement topics.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a juris doctor degree from an accredited institution, as well as a current license to practice law in Tennessee. They should also have at least four years of experience in the full-time practice of law, with preference given to those with experience in advising on procurement, contracts, and/or grants matters in the government or public sector. Familiarity with criminal justice, law enforcement, corrections, or community supervision is also preferred.
