Job Title: Tax Manager, Transfer Pricing

Job Responsibilities:

The Tax Manager, Transfer Pricing is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives and recommending alternative courses of action. The role involves identifying different methods to comply with tax regulations and is heavily focused on marketing, networking, and business development within the candidate's area of expertise. The Tax Manager must recognize potential changes in tax policy and apply new policies to tax compliance. Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting financial analysis related to intercompany transactions, evaluating industry and client-provided financial data to document appropriate intercompany pricing policies.
- Identifying when research is necessary and framing issues for research.
- Ensuring clients comply with transfer pricing requirements and proposing year-end transfer pricing reviews when applicable.
- Assisting in determining appropriate transfer pricing methods under IRS regulations and OECD guidelines.
- Ensuring tax engagement letters are adopted before commencing work.
- Reviewing facts related to transfer pricing, conducting detailed analysis, and managing engagements to achieve metrics.
- Representing clients before tax authorities on contested issues with guidance from senior professionals.
- Developing and implementing appropriate transfer pricing methods for specific transactions.
- Preparing planning and documentation reports.
- Analyzing the applicability of new regulations and reporting findings to senior management.
- Identifying opportunities for additional consulting specialties and federal tax cross-selling.
- Applying transfer pricing in tax provisions and FIN 48 contexts.
- Utilizing tax-related software for assigned tasks.
- Supervising and evaluating the performance of junior staff and assisting in their professional development.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Accounting or Economics. An advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of prior experience is required, specifically within a transfer pricing practice.

Salary Information:

Individual salaries are determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The national salary range is $79,800 to $168,000, with the same range applying to locations in Maryland, NYC/Long Island/Westchester, and Washington DC.
