The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Office is seeking dedicated Assistant Attorney Generals to perform complex legal work for the State of Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in public service and be able to provide legal advice, counsel, and representation for the state's interests. This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-$169,753 per year, depending on experience and division placement.

The Attorney General's Office has jurisdiction over a variety of legal areas, including consumer fraud, white collar crime, public corruption, and environmental laws. The AGO also prosecutes cases that are normally handled by county attorneys when there is a conflict. This position offers the opportunity to work on important and complex cases that impact the state and its citizens.

The AGO is seeking attorneys for various legal divisions, including the Child and Family Protection Division, which has openings available statewide. For more information about specific divisions, such as salary ranges and section descriptions, please click on the division hyperlinks above.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal representation, including advice and representation in complex cases in State and Federal court.
• Prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and memoranda.
• Conduct legal research, investigations, and discovery.
• Respond to inquiries from law enforcement and the general public.
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge and understanding of applicable statutes, case law, and court rules.
• Familiarity with legal techniques and the basic concepts of American Jurisprudence.
• Familiarity with the practical factors that impact litigation decisions and goals.
• Knowledge of financial considerations for the state.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for case presentation and client communication.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize, and direct complex investigations and cases.
• Ability to coordinate with various agencies and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and display professional behavior.
• Familiarity with ethical standards for lawyers and public employees.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in making strategic decisions and providing legal advice.
• Trial and negotiating skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Travel may be required for this position.
• A valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
• Must be admitted to, and in good standing with, the Arizona State Bar.
• Must submit a writing sample with application.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
