Corporate Tax Manager - Join Our Team in NYC!
Grant Thornton is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join our team in New York City, with additional approved locations in Melville, NY and Iselin, NJ. As a member of our corporate tax practice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. With our resources, environment, and support, you will have the opportunity to excel in your role and make a significant impact for our clients.
Responsibilities:
• Manage client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects
• Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns on tax projects and assess their performance
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to sell services to existing and potential clients
• Review tax returns prepared by staff and provide recommendations for accuracy and potential tax savings
• Conduct primary review of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements
• Research and consult on various tax matters
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and effectively communicate with client management and staff
• Gain an understanding of client operations, processes, and objectives
• Attend professional development and training sessions
• Adhere to professional standards and maintain client confidentiality
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 4-7 years of progressive tax compliance and/or consulting experience
• CPA or JD/active law license required
• Experience in public accounting preferred
• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
• Excellent technical skills in US GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations
• Working knowledge of broad-based statutory income tax compliance and consulting
• Exceptional client service, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred
• Ability to travel as needed
Salary Information:
• Base salary range for this position in the New York, NY office is between $121,000 and $181,000.
