Reputed Firm is seeking a Staff Attorney to join their team and support their mission of ending the practice of prosecuting youth in the adult criminal legal system. This is a full-time position based in Philadelphia and reports to the Legal Director. Responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining a caseload of individual youth facing charges in the adult criminal legal system
- Partnering with criminal defense attorneys to provide comprehensive mitigation support and reentry planning for youth
- Supervising law student interns and other volunteers in developing mitigation reports and reentry plans
- Securing cases and establishing attorney partnerships
- Conducting regular visits to jails, prisons, and juvenile detention facilities
- Providing support to youth and their families throughout the legal process
- Supervising YSRP's graduate student pro bono program at the University of Pennsylvania
- Coordinating with students to develop and implement trainings
- Providing consultation and technical assistance to attorneys in other jurisdictions
- Conducting and/or participating in trainings related to YSRP's work
- Facilitating the Know Your Rights program for children charged as adults
- Developing curriculum and materials for the program
- Onboarding and training student volunteers
Qualifications:

- At least two (2) years of experience practicing law, preferably in criminal trial practice
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Strong alignment with YSRP's mission and values as a racial justice organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a sense of humor and compassion
- Outstanding organizational, administrative, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and resourceful team player
- Ability to work collaboratively with youth, families, and community partners
- Experience working with youth and/or interest in YSRP's mission
- Experience liaising with community-based organizations
- Comfortable with Google Workspace
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule and travel as needed
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Compensation:
- Starting salary of $85,000
- Comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer-paid health and dental insurance, retirement benefits, short-term disability and life insurance, Health Reimbursement Arrangement, and generous paid time off
Logistics:
- Hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office per week
- Final schedule to be mutually agreed upon between the Staff Attorney and the Legal Director
