Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Attorney at the **Members Only**, specifically within Children's Legal Services, is to advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children. The attorney handles multiple cases, ensuring compliance with Florida and federal legal requirements to secure permanent and safe homes for dependent children. Key duties include collaborating with investigators and case managers to gather necessary evidence, preparing partners to serve as witnesses at trial, and employing best practice litigation techniques to lead in dependency advocacy.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a Law Degree to qualify for this position. The role is supported by a comprehensive training program including a multi-week onboarding process, quarterly intensive New Attorney Training, and an annual Advanced Litigation Academy. This training focuses on practical skills, litigation tactics, evidence techniques, expert witness challenges, and advocacy through technology. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements are fulfilled through webinars and live trainings covering various legal topics.

Salary Information:
The annual base salary for a full-time permanent appointment as an Attorney is $55,000. The total compensation, including benefits, is valued at a minimum of $77,947, with actual compensation varying based on insurance and retirement elections. Benefits include the payment of Florida Bar annual dues (contingent upon agency approval), participation in the Public Loan Forgiveness Program, no state income tax for Florida residents, annual and sick leave, paid holidays, state group insurance options, retirement plan options, flexible spending accounts, and tuition waivers.
