Job Title: Legal Internship, Fall
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Legal Internship Program during the fall semester, assisting various bureaus and divisions within the organization.
- Engage with the Energy and Environment Bureau, which is dedicated to combating climate change and promoting environmental justice.
- Support the Energy and Ratepayer Advocacy Division (ERA) in advocating for Massachusetts energy consumers as the statutory ratepayer advocate.
- Focus on ensuring a cost-effective and equitable clean energy transition, emphasizing energy affordability and expanding access to energy proceedings for underserved communities.
- Assist in addressing challenges faced by energy consumers, particularly those related to high utility rates and systemic inequities.
- Contribute to advocating for investments in clean energy infrastructure and holding for-profit entities accountable to their promises to consumers.
- Work under the guidance of attorneys in the Energy and Environment Bureau, particularly in areas related to climate change and appellate litigation.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship program is specifically designed for students who are currently enrolled in law school.
- Individuals who have completed law school are not eligible for this program.
- Legal interns are typically assigned to a particular division within the organization based on the needs and requests of individual divisions.
Salary Information:
- The internship positions offered by the organization are unpaid.
