**Members Only** (Ernst & Young) is a global professional services firm with a dedicated business unit, the Financial Services Organization (FSO), focused on serving the financial services industry. They are looking for a Tax Manager to join their Wealth and Asset Management practice and provide specialized tax assistance to clients in this industry. The role is open to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in the financial services industry.
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients. This includes working on key client issues in domestic federal, international, and state and local taxation, as well as implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. They will also be responsible for managing tax compliance accounts for hedge funds and private equity funds, reviewing partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications, and overseeing day-to-day activities for accounts across various locations.
Skills and attributes necessary for this role include solid technical knowledge, the ability to teach and assist in firm in-house trainings, and the ability to analyze trading reports and make appropriate tax adjustments. The Tax Manager should also have excellent managerial and leadership skills, as well as the ability to build impactful relationships with clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience. A CPA license or a licensed attorney is required, or the ability to achieve either within one year from the hire date. Familiarity with the financial services industry and broad exposure to federal income taxation and state and local tax are also preferred.
