Job Title: Tax Senior, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

As a Tax Senior in the Specialized Tax Services Partnerships department, the candidate will have several key responsibilities. The role involves utilizing basic research skills and applying educational background to assist in advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives. The candidate will focus on partnership-specific items, including but not limited to:
- Section 704(b) and taxable income allocations
- Capital account maintenance
- Liability analysis and allocations
- Section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations
- Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations

The Tax Senior will apply their knowledge and experience to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assist in the preparation of partnership-specific computations. They will be a critical member of the STS Partnerships team and will be exposed to marketing and business development activities. Additionally, they will engage in process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintain client relationships, and act as a source of guidance to staff.

Key duties include:
- Developing an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding partnership taxation.
- Participating in organizing and conducting effective external CPE training sessions in the area of specialization.
- Training and mentoring interns and associates, including training on software tools.
- Identifying when research is needed, working with leadership to frame issues, and reporting analysis.
- Assisting with developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients' current and future taxes.
- Collaborating with leadership to recommend solutions and manage client expectations.
- Participating in scheduling and managing the workload of interns and associates, supervising day-to-day tasks, and reviewing work.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.

Experience:
- Two or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Specialized partnership experience preferred.
- Private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.

Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.

- Capable of effectively delegating work as needed.
- Strong analytical and basic research, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and develop and maintain client relationships.
