Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Milford, CT, seeks a dedicated and personable Intake Attorney to serve as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking legal assistance with personal injury and workers' compensation matters. This position involves both client-facing responsibilities and internal team coordination. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in personal injury law, an analytical mindset, and the ability to foster trust and confidence in potential clients during the early stages of case evaluation.

Duties:

• Serve as the primary legal contact for prospective clients, mainly through phone consultations

• Assess and analyze new case opportunities by gathering pertinent facts and details

• Communicate effectively with potential clients to secure case representation

• Provide a clear interpretation of applicable laws and regulations to clients and staff

• Monitor and assess intake data to identify strategic trends and inform operational improvements

• Offer guidance and mentorship to intake personnel

• Ensure intake procedures remain compliant with legal and ethical standards

• Collaborate with attorneys and leadership to align on protocols for evaluating new matters

• Oversee the administrative staff assigned to intake functions

Requirements:

• Active license and good standing with the Connecticut Bar

• Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, with a focus on personal injury; familiarity with workers’ compensation preferred

• Exposure to general law firm operations is advantageous

• Demonstrated ability to assess complex legal scenarios and draw sound conclusions

• Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse client interactions

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality legal services with professionalism and ethical integrity

• Skilled in negotiation and client engagement

• Capable of operating efficiently under time-sensitive conditions

• Experience managing or supervising support personnel

• Comfort with legal technologies and standard office applications (., Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, legal intake platforms)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Connecticut Bar (in good standing)
