Job Title: Senior Counsel (Privacy)

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations into factual situations and provide well-reasoned, creative solutions and alternatives based on independent legal research and analysis of facts and law.
- Offer timely and accurate legal advice and prepare effective documents grounded in knowledge of federal, state, and applicable laws, along with the regulatory environment in which the Corporation operates.
- Deliver business-oriented, effective, and efficient legal services, project management, and strategic counseling on significant projects or matters for one or more units of the Corporation.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the Corporation’s business while applying legal discipline and anticipating internal/external business issues to recommend best practices.
- Cooperate with both internal and external legal counsel, overseeing legal service delivery when necessary.
- Perform management responsibilities including hiring, termination, coaching, development, rewards, recognition, performance management, and staff productivity.
- Develop and implement policies and programs as necessary, with possible budgetary responsibilities.
- Provide regular legal support for discrete units of the Corporation, offering comprehensive legal advice and preparing effective documents.
- Maintain productive relationships with Department members, management, staff, and external parties.
- Manage litigation, transactions, or other matters, and supervise or assist outside legal counsel to ensure effective and efficient issue resolution.
- Prepare precise legal memoranda, contracts, pleadings, analyses, and other documents; conduct legal research and factual investigations.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail, work ethic, and the ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
- Make business-oriented yet legally compliant recommendations and decisions.
- Investigate complex situations to present broad, innovative solutions based on legal research and analysis.
- Engage in effective two-way communication and provide feedback.
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills with outside parties and instruct others in developing these skills.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure timely, comprehensive, and efficient work completion.

Education:
Required: Juris Doctorate

Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of related, progressive law experience, with deep specialization in relevant areas.
- At least 7 years in related disciplines such as insurance regulation, health law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, antitrust, employee benefits, intellectual property, and litigation.

Licenses or Certifications:
Required:
- License to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or applicable state (DE or WV) or eligibility for admission within one year of hire.
- For Privacy Counsel positions, certification as a privacy professional within one year of employment.
