Senior Trial Attorney (Remote, TX - San Antonio)
Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Trial Attorney at the company, you will be at the forefront of legal defense for both the insured individuals and the company. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Representing insured individuals and the company in defending against bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, as well as subrogation cases.
- Preparing thoroughly for and conducting hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions.
- Effectively preparing and presenting pre- and post-trial motions.
- Assisting colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts in a collaborative manner.
- Offering counsel to business clients on day-to-day legal matters.
- Managing projects efficiently to foster coordination and collaboration among legal teams.
- Keeping abreast of and evaluating new laws, regulations, and case law.
- Identifying and summarizing relevant legal issues.
- Collaborating with other areas of the Law and Regulation department.
- Providing proactive advice and counsel to business units on the impact of new laws.
- Monitoring legal representation.
Education and Experience Information
Education:
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3+ years of proven litigation experience or strong litigation-type skills, such as case strategy development, legal research, and advocacy, with the ability to manage complex disputes and work effectively under pressure.
- First or second chair jury trial experience is preferred.
- Proven experience with insurance defense is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LexisNexis (preferred), and internet research.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants under the guidance of Lead Counsel.
- Capacity to manage a substantial caseload.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment and willing to travel throughout the greater San Antonio area.
Salary Information
The compensation offered for this role ranges from $85, to $152, annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
