Job Overview: A prominent law firm is currently seeking an associate attorney to join its dynamic Labor & Employment practice. The successful candidate will engage in a broad spectrum of labor and employment law matters, from traditional labor/union issues to collective bargaining, discrimination, wage and hour laws, and other employment-related ;Location:Albany, NYDuties:Perform legal research on various labor and employment issues.Draft employee handbooks, workplace policies, and position statements.Respond to administrative charges from agencies such as the EEOC, and state commissions on human rights.Communicate with clients to collect information for legal proceedings.Draft motions for federal and state court cases.Respond to discovery requests.Prepare deposition outlines, exhibits, and assist with witness preparation.Assist partners in preparing for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, fact-finding conferences, and trials.Serve as second chair and, where appropriate, first chair for mediations, arbitrations, oral arguments, hearings, and trials.Meet a minimum annual billable hour requirement of 1,800 hours.Requirements:2-5 years of experience in labor and employment law or litigation.Admission to the New York State Bar is required.Admission to the Connecticut Bar is preferred (or ability to waive in).Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the bar.Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.Ability to absorb and process new information quickly.High standards of performance with strong dedication and responsibility.Professional, positive, and flexible attitude.Ability to work with diverse personalities at all levels within the firm.Military experience is a plus.Education:Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the New York State Bar (required).Admission to the Connecticut Bar (preferred or ability to waive in).Skills:Strong knowledge of labor and employment law.Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.Client-focused, with a professional and cooperative attitude.Benefits:Hybrid remote work opportunity.Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive work environment.Comprehensive benefits package (specific details not provided).
