A law firm in Albany, NY, is seeking a Senior Employment and Labor Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will leverage the firm's institutional pipeline of existing work to represent regional and nationally based clients in sophisticated, broad-ranging employment matters. This role involves strategizing and contributing to the growth of the practice area and the firm's business development efforts, handling complex legal cases, mentoring junior attorneys, and working closely with clients to deliver tailored legal solutions. A portable business is welcome.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various employment and labor matters, including litigation, compliance, and advisory work.
  • Develop and implement strategies for complex legal cases.
  • Contribute to the growth of the employment and labor practice area and participate in the firm's business development efforts.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored legal solutions.
  • Stay updated on employment and labor law changes and advise clients accordingly.
  • Manage and support all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in employment and labor law.
  • Proven track record of handling complex legal cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • A portable business is welcome.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in using case management software.
