Job Title: Talent Development Manager

Job Responsibilities:
The Talent Development Manager at the law firm is responsible for overseeing the professional growth and development of the firm's non-partner timekeepers, which includes senior counsel, associates, staff attorneys, other professional timekeepers (OPTs), and paralegals. The manager will implement and execute professional development processes to equip these individuals with the necessary guidance, tools, and resources to succeed and meet client needs. Key responsibilities include:

- Providing one-on-one guidance to non-partner timekeepers on practice area selection, professional goals, project management, interpersonal conflicts, workload management, and work/life balance.
- Executing the firm’s bi-annual non-partner timekeeper evaluation processes, including:
- Regularly reviewing and updating evaluation forms and processes.
- Conducting pre-evaluation interviews with non-partner timekeepers.
- Attending meetings of practice group partners to discuss non-partner timekeeper performance.
- Preparing draft and final performance evaluations for all non-partner timekeepers except staff attorneys in the e-Discovery Center.
- Delivering performance evaluations to paralegals and OPTs.
- Following up on non-partner progress against areas identified for future development in their performance evaluations.
- Documenting, implementing, and overseeing reduced hours arrangements.
- Overseeing attorney and paralegal mentor programs, including developing mentor and mentee guides and delivering monthly updates to first-year associate mentors.
- Conducting annual associate and paralegal satisfaction surveys.
- Planning and executing the annual associate and paralegal retreats.
- Collaborating with practice group leaders and non-partner timekeepers to identify training needs and performance gaps, working with the Training and Learning Manager to address those needs.
- Responding to relevant surveys and maintaining relevant databases.
- Providing administrative support for various firm committees, employee resource groups, working groups, and strategic initiatives, including the Professional Staff Committee, Associates Committee, Paralegal Committee, and Lateral Acclimation Team.
- Managing the new and lateral attorney bar admission process.

Education and Experience Information:
The candidate should have an undergraduate degree, with a juris doctor degree preferred. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in professional development. Experience in a law school, law firm, or other professional services industry is preferred, with prior experience as a practicing attorney considered an advantage.
