Law firm seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join their team in a remote position, with a focus on SE Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of new business intake, including conflict checking and resolution, and documenting matter engagement. Responsibilities:
- Manage all new business intake details to ensure accuracy and adherence with firm policies and procedures
- Conduct conflict of interest searches and assist attorneys with clearance of conflicts
- Draft engagement letters and/or consents for new engagements and coordinate with attorneys to secure client agreement
- Coordinate with Firm Managing Partner and/or Office Managing Partners on business terms approval
- Review and implement Outside Counsel Guidelines
- Supervise conflicts staff and work with Professional Responsibility Attorneys on lateral hiring process
- Assist with other projects and special requests as needed
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the United States required
- Two years of experience as a Conflicts Attorney or comparable experience
- Strong understanding of legal relationships and loss prevention/legal risk management
- Knowledge of Rules of Professional Conduct
- Experience with database review and searching
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Remote work option available
