Job Title: Trial Attorney - Premises Liability
Job Responsibilities:
As a Trial Attorney at the law firm, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial to the successful resolution of cases and the overall mission of the firm. Your duties will include:
- Managing a High-Volume Caseload: You will oversee approximately 150 cases, with around 50 actively in litigation each month. Your role involves guiding each case from intake through to settlement or jury verdict, ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Engaging with Clients: Maintaining proactive and transparent communication with clients is essential. You will ensure that clients are well-informed and supported throughout the legal process, providing them with the attention and care they deserve.
- Conducting Key Litigation Activities: Your responsibilities include conducting depositions, drafting and responding to motions, leading mediations, and developing comprehensive case strategies. These activities are vital for preparing cases for trial and achieving favorable outcomes.
- Advocating in Trials: As lead counsel in jury trials, you will advocate passionately on behalf of clients to secure favorable outcomes. This involves presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making compelling arguments to the jury.
Education and Experience Information:
To be considered for the Trial Attorney position at the law firm, candidates must meet the following educational and experiential requirements:
- Legal Acumen: A minimum of 3 years practicing personal injury or civil litigation is required, with 5-8 years preferred. Experience on either the plaintiff or defense side is valuable, though plaintiff-side experience for civil litigation is preferred.
- Licensure: Candidates must be active and in good standing with their local State Bar. Multiple state bar admissions are preferred, which can enhance the candidate's ability to manage cases across different jurisdictions.
- Trial Experience: Extensive jury trial experience is essential, with a deep understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence. The firm expects its attorneys to be unafraid of taking cases to court and requires at least 5+ first chair trial verdicts to be considered, with 10+ first chair jury verdicts preferred.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate case strategies and engage effectively with clients and team members is crucial for this role. Strong communication skills are necessary to ensure clients are informed and cases are presented persuasively in court.
Salary Information:
