A respected law office based in San Diego, CA is seeking a Real Property Litigation Associate with a focus on landlord-tenant disputes. The position offers an opportunity to work on a dynamic caseload, primarily involving unlawful detainers and broader landlord-tenant litigation matters. Duties:

  • Represent property owners and landlords in residential and commercial eviction matters

  • Manage litigation caseload from intake through trial, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances

  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal memoranda, and develop case strategies

  • Attend court hearings frequently, including motions, trials, and settlement conferences

  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and team members

  • Maintain accurate case files and manage deadlines independently

  • Participate in firm meetings and contribute to the legal team’s collaborative culture

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of litigation experience, specifically in real estate or landlord-tenant law

  • Licensed to practice and in good standing with the State Bar of California

  • Demonstrated ability to handle a litigation matter from beginning to end without supervision

  • Experience appearing in court for hearings and trials

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California
