A well-established, full-service law firm in San Diego, California is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join its real estate and civil litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to independently manage high-value litigation matters while working in a collaborative, client-centered environment. The position is ideal for a litigator with over 8 years of experience who is ready to take on lead responsibilities across a range of real estate and complex commercial disputes.

Duties

  • Serve as lead attorney on assigned litigation matters

  • Develop and implement case strategies in consultation with team members

  • Draft and respond to complaints, motions, stipulations, briefs, and declarations

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Coordinate and manage discovery

  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations

  • Deliver oral arguments and represent clients during trial preparation and proceedings

  • Communicate regularly with clients, maintaining strong professional relationships

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a team-oriented environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in litigation

  • Prior experience in real estate and complex commercial litigation preferred

  • Proven ability to handle cases independently from inception to resolution

  • Trial and arbitration experience required

  • Experience managing a heavy caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong understanding of California civil litigation and state court procedures

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation abilities

  • Outstanding interpersonal and client communication skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
