Job Responsibilities
The Paralegal at the company is responsible for a wide array of legal and administrative tasks. Key duties include:
- Drafting, analyzing, and revising legal documents under the supervision of an attorney.
- Facilitating contract processing between business units and the legal team.
- Administering department systems and processes that track and manage contracts, document management, outside counsel billing, and other related systems.
- Working with company lawyers on varied subject matters such as labor and employment, contracts, regulatory matters, products liability, intellectual property, and insurance.
- Implementing and executing processes, workflows, and tools to improve departmental efficiency, including contract review, management, and retention, as well as data management and records retention policies.
- Managing vendors that provide technical services to the company's lawyers, including handling the billing system for outside law firms.
- Communicating with outside law firms on administrative matters.
- Assisting with managing and updating corporate subsidiary minute books, records, and state registrations and filings.
- Supporting the corporate compliance function, including implementing and managing ethics and other company policies.
- Serving as a liaison with outside law firms on administrative matters.
The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and may include other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information
To qualify for the Paralegal position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least 2 years of relevant legal experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred qualifications include paralegal education or certification and previous experience as a paralegal.
- A general understanding of basic state and federal laws and contracts is preferred.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, establish trust, and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required, and experience with Serengeti and other legal software is a plus.
- A customer service mindset and success in working with business partners in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to achieve results.
- Ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment, being respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and fostering a positive work environment.
