Job Title: Tax Senior, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

As a Tax Senior in the Specialized Tax Services Partnerships, the candidate will assume a critical role within the team, responsible for a range of duties that leverage basic research skills and educational background to advise clients on the tax implications of their business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

- Developing a thorough understanding of partnership taxation issues, including section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Assisting in the preparation of partnership-specific computations and addressing potential partnership taxation issues.
- Participating in marketing and business development activities within the group.
- Engaging in process improvement and team-building initiatives while maintaining client relationships.
- Acting as a source of guidance and mentorship for interns and associates, including training them on the use of current software tools and research skills.
- Assisting with tax consulting by developing, recommending, and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits, primarily by reducing current and future taxes.
- Collaborating with leadership to recommend solutions that align tax knowledge with business and industry insights.
- Assisting in managing client expectations and implementing applicable strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Participating in the scheduling and management of intern and associate workloads.
- Supervising the day-to-day workload of interns on various projects.
- Reviewing work prepared by interns and associates and providing review comments.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:

- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- A Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.

Experience:

- A minimum of two years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services is required.
- Specialized partnership experience is preferred.
- Experience in private equity at both fund and portfolio company levels is preferred.

License/Certifications:

- A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) is preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is preferred.

Software:

- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred.
