Job Responsibilities:
The 2026 2L Summer Associate position at the law firm in Dallas is designed to provide law students with a comprehensive experience of what it is like to work as an associate in a corporate legal environment. The responsibilities include:
- Participating in the firm's Summer Associate Program, which aims to offer a realistic preview of associate life.
- Engaging in various legal tasks and assignments under the guidance of partner and associate mentors.
- Enhancing analytical and persuasive writing skills with the assistance of writing instructors.
- Attending the Learning & Development Summer Academy courses, which cover essential topics such as Effective Legal Writing, AI and Practical Law Training, and Effective Presentation Skills.
- Participating in a variety of social activities to build relationships with future colleagues and other summer associates.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the 2026 2L Summer Associate position must meet the following educational and experiential criteria:
- Currently enrolled as a 2L (second-year law student) at an accredited law school.
- Strong academic credentials are required.
- Participation in law school activities such as law review or moot court is highly valued.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities are essential.
- A track record of building skills beyond the classroom through various experiences is preferred.
- Contributions to community service, prior work experience, and demonstrated initiative are advantageous.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the 2026 2L Summer Associate position is expected to be $4,327 per week.
