Job Title: Senior Manager, National Tax Office-Partnerships-Real Estate Focus
Job Responsibilities:
1. Tax Specialization:
- Maintain and develop a deep understanding of technical and practical issues in partnership taxation.
- Participate in organizing and conducting effective external CPE training sessions in area of specialization.
2. Research:
- Identify when research is needed and clearly frame issues for investigation.
- Train associates and senior associates on research skills.
3. Tax Consulting:
- Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, focusing on reducing current and future taxes.
- Apply tax knowledge to recommend solutions and manage client expectations.
4. Strengthening the Firm:
- Participate in office, regional, and national client service efforts.
- Support national, regional, and industry initiatives.
- Ensure conformity with the firm's technical standards.
5. Risk Management:
- Display appropriate knowledge of firm regulations and guidelines.
- Provide on-the-job training and engage various professionals to resolve client issues.
6. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise associates and senior associates on projects.
- Provide review comments and performance feedback.
- Train and mentor associates, senior associates, and managers.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Eight or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Specialized partnership experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent preferred.
- Other applicable professional degrees or certifications preferred.
Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to develop and manage a team of tax professionals.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects.
Salary Information:
- Individual salaries are determined based on numerous factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
- National Range: $150,000 - $250,000
- Maryland Range: $150,000 - $250,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $250,000
- Washington DC Range: $150,000 - $250,000
