H2: Overview
- Responsible for managing a case load from inception to resolution
- Presents defense strategies in court and conducts legal research
- Maintains understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values
- Upholds standards of the organization
H2: Responsibilities
- Independently represents the Insured before assigned Court
- Analyzes legal and factual issues and presents defense strategies
- Prepares pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs
- Handles all activities related to trial and/or appeals
- Provides effective and timely communications and advice to clients and claims professionals
- Uses independent judgment and analytical skills
- Assists in developing training materials and presenting seminars
- Works on special projects related to practice or line of business
- Communicates with Court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients
- Responsible for prompt and effective disposition of cases
- May supervise and develop junior attorneys
- Attends continuing legal education seminars
- Keeps current with market trends and demands
H2: Qualifications
Required:
- State Bar licensed attorney
- Knowledge of State laws and local court policies and procedures
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Experience with supervision and development of junior attorneys
- 11+ years' relevant litigation experience
Preferred:
- Multi-state Bar admittance
- Experience with legal software and dictation
- Managerial experience in litigation group
H2: Salary and Benefits
- Salary range of $150K - $185K per year
- Base pay may vary depending on factors such as education, experience, and location
