Job Responsibilities:
- Advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
- Manage primary responsibility for multiple cases, ensuring compliance with Florida and federal legal requirements to secure safe and permanent homes for dependent children.
- Collaborate with investigators and case managers to gather evidence necessary to support legal actions appropriate for each child and prepare these partners to serve as witnesses at trial.
- Employ best practice litigation techniques to ensure pleadings and trial presentations are leading in dependency advocacy.
- Handle cases in both the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit and the Second Judicial Circuit, with most court appearances expected to be on a virtual platform.

Education and Experience Information:
- A law degree is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of bar admission is necessary.

Training Provided:
- A multi-week onboarding program developed by a dedicated Statewide Training Team.
- Quarterly intensive multi-day New Attorney Training focusing on practical skills and litigation tactics.
- Annual multi-day Advanced Litigation Academy that coaches attorneys on high-level evidence techniques, expert witness challenges, and advocacy through technology.
- Fulfillment of all CLE requirements through webinars and live trainings on various topics including case law updates, statutory changes, courtroom skills, evidence, ethics, and legal writing.

Salary Information:
- For a full-time permanent appointment, the annual base salary is $69,000 for a senior attorney.
- Total compensation, inclusive of benefits, is valued at a minimum of $95,318, varying based on insurance and retirement elections.
- Salary range is $55,000 - $69,000.
