We are currently seeking Assistant Public Defenders to join our team and provide high quality representation to our clients.

Salary & Benefits:
- Starting salary of $70,000

Job Description:
As an Assistant Public Defender, you will be responsible for providing high quality representation to our clients. This includes preparing each case efficiently and expeditiously, advising and counseling clients, and maintaining a professional relationship with each client. You will also work closely with investigators, mitigation and placement specialists, and other support staff to effectively handle cases. Seeking assistance from experts and demonstrating a professional demeanor are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist the Public Defender in carrying out their duties.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Law school graduates must be licensed to practice law in Florida
- Excellent verbal, computer, and communication skills
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish and/or English/Creole are helpful but not required
- Participation in a law school trial advocacy course or litigation skills program preferred
- Willingness to interview clients in jails and juvenile detention facilities
- Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and a reliable vehicle for required travel
