Senior Manager, Value Added Tax

Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager within the Value Added Tax Services practice, you will have a pivotal role in guiding businesses through the complexities of managing their indirect taxes. Your responsibilities will include:

- Advising . and foreign multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations, including VAT, GST, sales and use tax, and other transaction-based taxes.
- Collaborating with indirect tax colleagues within the company's global network to provide seamless service.
- Developing and managing your own book of business, while driving market propositions to clients and targets.
- Directing complex tax research, formulating tax-planning strategies, and performing tax reviews.
- Integrating indirect tax planning into clients' overall business strategies, ensuring compliance with complex international indirect tax requirements, especially in instances such as mergers and acquisitions, global ERP implementations, and multi-jurisdictional business transactions.
- Assisting clients in reducing costs and managing tax compliance risks, while enhancing confidence in tax processes.
- Implementing technology-based compliance management solutions.
- Supervising Managers, Senior and Tax Consultants within the department.

Education and Experience Information
Required qualifications for this role include:

- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
- Over 8 years of general tax experience, with at least 6 years focused on indirect taxes including VAT/GST.
- Prior supervisory experience, showcasing the ability to manage and lead a team.
- Extensive technical expertise in the field of indirect taxes.
- A proven track record of maintaining a profitable book of business.
- Experience with an accountancy firm, consultancy practice, law firm, or large tax department of a multinational company.
- Experience in indirect tax automation (ERP or tax engine).
- Willingness to travel up to 25% on average, depending on the work and clients served.
- One of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, US Customhouse Broker's License, or certifications in tax technology vendors such as OneSource, Vertex, Oracle, or SAP.

Preferred qualifications include:

- Experience with a Big 4 firm.
- An advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM.
- Experience in supply chain restructuring, data analytics, or compliance.
- Excellent research, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong project management, coordination, and presentation skills.
