Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an associate to join a prestigious Native American litigation team. This role provides the opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal matters involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. The associate will also handle complex commercial and construction disputes, offering a dynamic environment for candidates interested in Federal Indian Law, litigation, and administrative law.

Location:

• Fort, Myers, FL

Duties:

• Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in legal matters related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
• Litigate complex commercial and construction disputes.
• Participate in trials, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
• Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Conduct extensive legal research and analysis.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to strategize on case outcomes.
• Manage multiple cases while maintaining strong organizational systems and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in litigation, or a strong interest in Federal Indian Law.
• Previous experience with trial work, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation and commercial disputes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in writing and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of Federal Indian Law and administrative law.
• Ability to effectively handle litigation and manage commercial disputes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
