Job Title: Assistant Corporation Counsel Family Court JD

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Corporation Counsel (ACC) in the Family Court Division’s Juvenile Delinquency Unit is responsible for managing juvenile delinquency cases. These cases involve individuals under 18 who have been arrested for conduct that would be considered a crime if committed by an adult. The primary objective of these proceedings is to address the youth's needs and ensure community safety. Responsibilities include:

- Carrying a caseload and overseeing all aspects of the legal process.
- Engaging in community outreach and engagement to better understand and address the needs of the community.
- Conducting case investigations and engaging in motion practice.
- Conducting extensive discovery to gather necessary evidence and information.
- Participating in courtroom litigation, which includes pre-trial hearings, trials, and dispositional hearings.
- Drafting cases and appearing in the Youth Part of the Supreme Court as a cross-designated Special Assistant District Attorney.
- Participating in a citywide rotation of night and weekend court assignments.
- Attending community events and meetings during evenings and weekends as required.

Education and Experience Information:
Applicants must be graduates of a law school approved by the American Bar Association (ABA) and must be admitted to the New York State (NYS) bar in good standing. While two years of relevant experience is preferred, it is not explicitly required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is between $87, and $175,.
