Job Title: Law Student Intern

Job Responsibilities:
- Interns will contribute to a variety of legal tasks under the supervision of experienced attorneys within the Office of the Attorney General.
- Responsibilities may include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting in the preparation of cases.
- Interns will have the opportunity to work in various legal divisions such as Antitrust, Consumer Protection, Criminal and Capital Appeals, Civil Litigation, and others.
- Specific duties vary depending on the assigned division but generally involve supporting attorneys in case preparations and legal proceedings.
- Interns may engage in tasks related to enforcement of state and federal laws, participating in civil investigations, and engaging in litigation processes.
- Legal divisions cover areas such as antitrust law, consumer protection, criminal appeals, civil litigation, Medicaid fraud control, and cyber fraud enforcement.

Education and Experience Information:
- The program is open to students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school.
- The internship is designed primarily for law students seeking academic credit or participating in law school-sponsored programs.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a law school and eligible to receive academic credit or be a participant in a law school-sponsored program such as Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, or Law School Paid Stipend programs.
- A minimum of 20 hours per week is required for the internship placement.
- 2nd and 3rd-year law students are expected to provide a writing sample during the interview process if selected.
- Applicants must submit an application form, resume, letter from their advisor or university confirming eligibility, and an official transcript. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially, but official ones are required if chosen.

Salary Information:
- The internship is unpaid, and participants will not receive any monetary compensation or benefits, except for Workers’ Compensation benefits.

Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must undergo a preliminary background screening, including a criminal background check.
- Interns must be legally authorized to work in the ., and . citizenship or legal work authorization is required.
- Applicants must report any adult criminal history, including sealed or expunged records.
- Acknowledgment of the volunteer statement and security screening authorization is required.
- Applications must be submitted by the specified deadlines, with the Fall 2025 deadline being July 31, 2025.
- Completed internship packets must be emailed to the specified address for review.
